Dear Friends,
It is with a full heart that I share some important news with you. After more than seven wonderful years of serving as Executive Director of Connect Counselling, I am stepping down from this role. This decision comes with a mix of emotions – sadness at stepping down from my leadership role at this incredible organization and deep appreciation for the growth and learning we’ve experienced together.
Connect Counselling holds a very special place in my heart. Witnessing the resilience of our clients, the dedication of our team, and the positive impact we have made on our community has been deeply rewarding. While I am stepping down from leadership, I am thrilled to continue providing trauma counselling services at Connect Counselling. I look forward to supporting individuals on their healing journeys as they navigate challenges such as PTSD, anxiety, grief, and more.
I am also excited to welcome our new Executive Director, Alison Ruks who brings deep expertise in the non-profit sector, strategic business development, and a passion for mental health advocacy. We are excited about the future and confident that Alison’s leadership will build upon the incredible work we have done.
Thank you to the entire Connect Counselling community – our courageous clients, our dedicated staff, our invaluable volunteers, and our generous supporters. Your unwavering support and belief in me and our mission have made all the difference. It has been an honour to walk alongside you all on this journey.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Roxie Van Aller MACP SEP, RCC-ACS
